Maliki heads meeting to discuss situation of Syrian refugees to Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has headed a meeting for the National Security Council to discuss the situation of the Syrian refugees to Iraq.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday cited “Maliki has headed a meeting for the NSC, comprising the Foreign, Interior, Finance, Defense and Justice Ministers as well as the advisor of the NSC in addition to some key officials in order to discuss the latest updates of the Syrian crisis and its effects on the security situation in Iraq.”

“The committees that have checked the borders with Syria have submitted their reports over the current situation and the required procedures to be followed,” the statement added, noting that “The meeting resulted in several decisions such as organizing the operation of receiving the refugees, assuring hosting them in special camps in addition to providing the required services.”
