KA rejects summoning Barzani in parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistani Alliance rejected “The issue of summoning or investigating the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, in the parliament,” stressing that “The Federal Government has not the right to summon or to investigate any official or even a general director within the Kurdistan Regional Government in the parliament.”

The spokesman of the KA, Muayad al-Tayib, stated to IraqiNews.com Kurdistan RegionG has the judicial, executive and the legislative authorities and it is responsible for any issue in Kurdistan Region.”

“Barzani was not appointed by the parliament of the Federal Government to be subjected to the confidence withdrawal or investigation by this parliament,” he mentioned.

“The parliament can summon or investigate the Premier and the Ministers but not the President of Kurdistan Region,” he emphasized.

“Only the parliament of Kurdistan RegionG has the right to summon or to question Barzani,” he added.

Earlier, political source announced gathering more than 25 MPs’ signatures to investigate Barzani in the parliament over four issues, including the issue of banning the deployment of the Iraqi Army near the Syrian borders.
