Citizen bloc postpones its Tuesday meeting

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Citizen bloc postponed its meeting that was decided to be held on Tuesday till further notice.

MP, Ali Shubar, of the Citizen bloc stated to IraqiNews.com “The bloc decided to postpone its meeting to respond to the invitation of the head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibraheem al-Jaafary, for attending Iftar banquet.”

“The meeting was decided to discuss the latest political developments in the country and the regional updates,” he added.

Earlier, MP, Suzan al-Saad, of the INA stated that Jaafary invited all the heads of the political blocs to attend the Iftar banquet at his residence, expecting that Maliki and the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, to attend it.

MP, Hussein al-Asadi, of the State of Law Coalition confirmed that the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, will attend the Iftar banquet called for by the head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafary.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Maliki will attend the Iftar banquet at Jaafary’s residence,” noting that “It will also be good atmosphere to discuss the political issues and the reform proposal.”
