Iraq urges international community to impose sanction against Burmese government

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Council of Ministers instructed “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to exert efforts to urge the international community to impose economic sanctions against the state of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, to oblige the Burmese government to stop the crimes committed against the Burmese Muslims.”

The spokesman of the government, Ali al-Dabbagh, stated to IraqiNews.com “The CoM discussed the genocides committed against the Muslims in Myanmar.”

“The CoM condemns these crimes and confirms its solidarity with the Muslims in Myanmar,” he added.

“The CoM urged The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with the concerned organizations and to discuss taking the required procedures with the Arab League and the Islamic Cooperation Organization,” he concluded.
