Jobouri: Federal Parliament can not investigate Barzani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Salim al-Jobouri, pointed out that “The Parliament can not investigate any Minister within the Kurdistani Regional Government which covers the President of Kurdistan RegionG, Masoud Barzani.”

He stated to IraqiNews.com “Iraqi enjoys a federal regime which means that the federal parliament is concerned with the issues of the Federal Government only,” noting that “There is no law that permits investigating Barzani and this investigation does not go in harmony with the political system and the structure of the State.”

“Kurdistan Region has its parliament so Barzani is responsible towards this parliament only,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Kurdistani Alliance rejected “The issue of summoning or investigating the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, in the parliament,” stressing that “The Federal Government has not the right to summon or to investigate any official or even a general director within the Kurdistan Regional Government in the parliament.”

The spokesman of the KA, Muayad al-Tayib, stated to IraqiNews.com Kurdistan RegionG has the judicial, executive and the legislative authorities and it is responsible for any issue in Kurdistan Region.”

“Barzani was not appointed by the parliament of the Federal Government to be subjected to the confidence withdrawal or investigation by this parliament,” he concluded.
