Diyala police denies reports over death of 4 IPs

Diyala, Baquba (IraqiNews.com) The Media Officer of Diyala Police Command, Lieutenant Colonel, Ghaleb al-Ateya, denied reports over “the death of four police elements in the province.”

Al-Ateya added in statement to IraqiNews.com that ”The reports given by a local official concerning killing four police elements due to an armed attack are groundless and aim to confuse the situation in the province.”

He added that ”The point of this act is to destabilize situation in the province and to create distrust between the security forces and the citizens.”

Earlier, a security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com that ”Unidentified gunmen opened fire, targeting a police checkpoint in Tahrer neighborhood of central Baquba at late hour of Thursday night which resulted in killing four policemen and injuring others.” \
