SLC’s MP: disbursing sums of money within Supplementary budget among Iraqis to affect market

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Salman al-Mosawi, of the State of Law Coalition criticized “Some calls to distribute sums of money in cash for the citizens.”

Mosawi said “What is being stated by some political blocs about the Supplementary budget as it violates what has been agreed upon when endorsing it early this year or it was allocated to the officials’ delegations is untrue since the agreement included that in case there will be a surplus in the general budget then it will be spent through the Supplementary budget and according to the priorities.”

“As for the distribution of 25% of oil revenues among the Iraqi people, this happens in the case of a surplus out of the State’s need but now the State distributes the money in indirect ways such as salaries, provide services and support the fuel and the Ration Card,” he confirmed.

“While the calls for a distribution of funds in cash, it is not adopted in the world countries including the rich ones, because this will cause inflation in the Iraqi market and result in a kind of laziness among citizens,” he added.

The Parliament has completed in the last session, the first reading of the Supplementary budget law for 2012.
