 Federal Government approves to pay dues of foreign companies in Kurdistan Region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Abbas al-Bayati of the State of Law Coalition confirmed that “The Federal Government does not mind paying the dues of the foreign companies working in the oil fields in Kurdistan Region.”

Bayati reported in statement to IraqiNews.com that ”It is necessary that the Federal Government receives in return of these payments the value of (175,000) oil barrel daily.”

MP Bayati pointed out that ”The contracts concluded by foreign Oil Companies and Kurdistan Region have problems but these problems can be solved through forming joint committee to pay all the debts and dues of the foreign companies,” stressing that ”The payments of the government depend on receiving amount of money equals to the value of (175,000) oil barrels daily.”

The Kurdistan Region threatened to stop its oil exports at the end of August in case the dues of the foreign companies, which work in Kurdistan Region, were not paid by the Federal Government.”
