Syrian crisis becomes core of Khuzai, Jalili discussions in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Vice President Khudhayer al-Khuzai discussed with the Secretary General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, the bilateral relations between the two countries, the situation in the region and the file of the Syrian crisis.

A statement by the al-Khuzai’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) stated Thursday that “Khuzai met Jalili in his office in Baghdad on Thursday, and assured the need to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis, to stop Syrians blood shedding,” calling the “International community and countries in the region to take their responsibilities towards the continuous repercussions of the crisis.”

The statement added that “The Secretary General of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council appreciated the positive role played by Iraq in the Syrian crisis and appreciated the Khuzai’s effort to settle the crisis.”

The Secretary General of the Iranian National Security Council Saeed Jalili has arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday and met during his visit with a number of Iraqi officials and leaders, including Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to discuss bilateral relations and the Syrian crisis, and Iraqi stance towards them as well as developments in the region and Iran’s nuclear program.
