Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Najib Abdullah of the Islamic Union of Kurdistan attributed the causes behind the formation of Supreme Negotiation Council by the Kurdistani Alliance to the continuous disputes between Kurdistan Regional Government and Central Government of Baghdad.

MP Abdullah told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Saturday that “The continuous disputes and differences between the Kurdistan RegionG and CG call us to form a body or a supreme council for negotiations,” noting that “This body will be the supreme body of the negotiations as a representative of the Kurdistan RegionG in Baghdad.”

He added “We have held a session last week and was attended by representatives of all Kurdish parties, the heads of parliamentary blocs in the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Parliament,” stressing that “Attendees agreed to form a supreme body to negotiate with the federal government.”

He emphasized “The members of the formed committee for this purpose have held its first meeting on Saturday.”

“We have discussed the pending issues between Baghdad and Kurdistan RegionG since 2003 till now as well as possible means to settle these issues,” he concluded.
