Saad calls for fair representation for southern Provinces, Nineveh within IHEC

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Suzan al-Saad, of the Iraqi National Alliance called for “A fair representation for the southern Provinces and for Nineveh province within the Independent High Electoral Commission.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), she said “Article 105 of the Constitution confirmed the necessity of fair representation for all regions and provinces in all the State institutions and departments.”

“The Commissioners board of the IHEC should involve representatives for Basra, Nineveh as well as other provinces due to increasing the members of the Commissioners board,” she added.

She called “To nominate the members of the IHEC according to the constitution to ensure the fair representation for all provinces to consolidate the Independence of the IHEC which did not include representatives for the southern provinces.”

Earlier, the parliament voted on extending the term of the current Independent High Electoral Commission for 35 days.
