MP reveals new corruption files at CBI

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Financial Committee, Haitham al-Jubouri, revealed new corruption files within the Central Bank of Iraq.

Speaking to Iraqi News, MP Jubouri said Thursday “We discovered several corruption files which involves figures and officials at the CBI,” noting that “We have detailed information that would be submitted to the investigation committees which would be formed after the Eid vacation.”

“The files include distributing vehicles unfairly on the officials and employees of the CBI as well as drafting receipts with imaginary amounts of money as well as unregistered bills,” he emphasized, stressing that “We, in the Parliamentary Financial Committee, continue efforts to expose corruption activities related to the work of the Central bank of Iraq.”

Recently, a wave of accusation targeting the officials of the CBI aroused claiming that these officials are involved in money laundering processes and financing terrorism.
