Urgent – .Huge fire destroys hotel in Najaf

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) A huge fire started at a hotel in Najaf province on Tuesday morning.

The Media officer of Najaf Civil Defense Department stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The Civil Defense units managed to put out a huge fire at the (Barakat-il-Abbas) Hotel and succeeded to rescue 40 Iranian pilgrims who were surrounded at the top floor of the hotel located at the center of Najaf province.”

“The pilgrims and residents of the Hotel are safe and sound and there are no casualties among them,” he added, noting that “The reason behind the fire was an electric short circuit,” he added, noting that “The fire caused massive material damage to the building of the hotel.”
