Citizens upset for strict security measures in Najaf

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The citizens of Najaf province expressed their annoyance for the strict security measures conducted in the province.

The correspondent of IraqiNews.com reported that ”The citizens, who are heading towards the holy shrine of Imam Ali and who are going to visit their late relatives who are buried in Dar al-Salam cemetery in Najaf province during the days of Eid al-Fitr, are upset and complaining from the tight security measures and the closed roads which forced them to walk for long distances on feet.”

“The people are upset because Najaf province has been divided into three parts, the first includes the holy shrine of Imam Ali and the areas around it, the second involved Eshreen square area till the holy shrine while the third included the northern and southern garages of the vehicles,” he added.

The reporter assured “The citizens demanded the security forces to create new roads to facilitate the citizens’ movements and to avoid bureaucratic procedures by establishing sub-roads and side-roads which can lead directly to the holy shrine of Imam Ali as well as preparing special vehicles allocated for such occasions.”
