Jubouri holds government responsible for deteriorated agriculture sector

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ahmed al-Jubouri of the Patriots Bloc held the Government responsible for the deterioration of the Agricultural sector in Iraq due to neglecting the resolutions of the Parliament.

MP Jubouri stated to Iraqi News “The Agricultural Committee in Parliament submitted a proposal to allocate 10% of the Budget to the Ministry of Agriculture,” noting that “the proposal is scheduled to be discussed and voted over after the Eid vacation.”

“Many reasons caused the deterioration of the agricultural sector in Iraq represented by government’s disinterest in Agriculture sector, lack of water and rise of prices of seeds and fertilizers,” he clarified.

Jubouri assured that “The committee formed by the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki under the title of the Agricultural Initiative has helped to set a strategy for the Ministry of Agriculture and attracted attention for the Agricultural sector and develop it through importing crops or agricultural requirements.”
