Elewi warns from aims of Dempsey’s visit

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Karem Elewi of the Iraqi National Alliance reported that “The visit of the US Chief of Joint Staffs, General Marten Dempsey, aims to change the attitude of the Iraqi Government towards the Syrian crisis.”

Elewi warned the Iraqi Government ”From being subject for the desires of the American and Arab governments which aim to change the whole strategy in the arena to serve Israel and Wahabism trend.”

He added that ”The Iraqi Government should be aware that countries which oppose Syrian regime will work to topple Iraqi Government after toppling the Syrian regime since they are not satisfied about the Shiite majority in the Iraqi Government.”

The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs Hoshyar Zibari confirmed during a phone call with the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that Iraq opposes the regional interferences in the Syrian affairs or contributing in arming the disputes among disputed sides.”

Earlier, the Iraqi Premier, during his meeting with the US Chief of Joint Staffs General Dempsey on Tuesday, has called the US to speed up arming Iraqi Security Forces to sustain Iraqi sovereignty.
