Diyala PC to discuss nominating new Governor

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) It is decided that Diyala Provincial Council will hold a meeting on Saturday to discuss nominating the new Governor of Diyala province.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan quoted the member of the Kurdistani Alliance within Diyala PC, Dlier Hasan Saya, as saying “In order to avoid the administrative vacuum, the PC decided to hold its normal session with the presence of all its members to nominate the new governor.”

“The security situation is partially stable in most of the areas of the province,” he added.

Concerning the projects to be established by the PC, he said “The Commissions of the PC are following up all the services projects to improve the services presented to the citizens.”

Earlier, Diyala Governor, Hisham al-Hayali, died in traffic accident on last Saturday evening.

A source from Diyala Governorate stated to IraqiNews.com “Hayali underwent traffic accident at Kalar road between Diyala and Sulaimaniya provinces.”

“The accident resulted in killing Hayali’s wife as well,” the source concluded.
