Mutalibi urges parliament to speed up endorsing Gas, Oil draft law

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Saad al-Mutalibi, of the State of Law Coalition called “The Parliament to speed up the endorsement of the Gas and Oil law draft,” noting that “It will solve the disputes between the Federal Government and Kurdistani Regional Government over the oil contracts concluded with oil companies.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Among the prominent disputes that must be discussed in the upcoming national meeting is lack of the FG control over Kurdistan RegionG contracts with the oil companies.”

“The FG is adherent to the constitution which states that the oil contracts must be done by the FG,” he added.

“With the lack of the oil law draft, any procedure that contradicts the constitution in rejected,” he mentioned.

Over the contract of Total Oil Company with Kurdistan RegionG, he said “This company will all its contracts in Iraq and will not be invited in future for any long term bid with Iraq.”
