Abdul Jabbar accuses FM of being unserious towards relieving Iraq from UN sanctions

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Rafi Abdul Jabbar pointed out that “The Foreign Ministry did not negotiate with the UN over relieving Iraq from the UN Charter’s Seventh Chapter despite the convergence which took place between Iraq and Kuwait and settling the pending issues between both countries.”

He added in a statement to IraqiNews.com “The Iraqi FM did not exert any efforts to relief Iraq from the UN sanctions stated in the 7th Chapter of the UN Charter despite the fact that Iraq took serious steps towards cooperating with Kuwait through paying off the majority of the payable debts including those of the Kuwaiti Airlines.”

“The principles of the 7th Chapter cover only those countries which represent threat to the world peace and Iraq should not be among those countries since it is suffering from these threats due to the terrorism practiced within its lands,” Abdul Jabbar concluded.
