Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee MPAziz al-Eqaili, of the Citizen bloc, expected the increase of the administrative and financial corruption in the governmental institutions in the next period, attributing that to the “Wrong governmental method of fighting corruption in addition to the involvement of close officials to the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, in corruption issues.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “There is a defect in the procedures of fighting corruption in Maliki’s office and by not giving complete authorities to the observatory committees in addition to the involvement of Maliki’s advisors in the corruption issues.”

“Maliki’s advisor, Ahmed al-Sa’adawi, purchased Canadian airplanes and he is involved in corruption issues due to the high prices that are more than the real prices in millions of USD where he received four of them and two are not delivered yet,” he added, noting that “The price of each airplane is more than the real price in 10 -15 Millions USD where some other officials such as Ahmed Eiz and Ezzat al-Shabandar, who is involved in forming faked companies in the Ministry of Electricity.”

“When the Parliamentary Integrity Committee set a certain law, the Secretariat-General of the Council of Ministers postponed it where there is an intention to assign the head of the Integrity Committee by Maliki which means that this is not neutral issue,” he pointed out.

He described the Integrity Committee as ” Exploiter not Independent and there is a big problem with the increase of the corruption due to the wrong procedures of fighting it.”
