Minister of Telecommunications denies submitting his resignation to Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Telecommunications, Mohamed Tawfiq Allawi, denied the reports over “submitting his resignation to the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

He assured in a press statement that “These reports mentioned by the media outlets in this regard are groundless.”

“I have submitted a request for Maliki a month ago in which there were specific demands,” he added without clarifying these demands.

“The Ministry of Telecommunications is a technical ministry that could not be involved in the political disputes,” he stressed.

The spokesman of the Ministry, Sameer Ali al-Hasoun, called “The media outlets to be careful and to seek accuracy while posting their reports,” confirming that “Allawi still preserves his post to continue in his performance to serve Iraq.”

Some media outlets indicated that Allawi submitted his resignation to Maliki earlier.
