Askari: SLC willing to form new alliances with Mutleg, Nijaifi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Sami al-Askari, of the State of Law Coalition assured “The SLC has no objection to form new alliance with sides from the Iraqiya Slate.”

Askari told IraqiNews.com “We have no mind to create new alliances out the ordinary such as an alliance involves SLC headed by the Premier Nouri al-Maliki with political sides headed by leaders within the Iraqiya Slate, for instance, Osama al-Nijaifi and Saleh al-Mutleg.”

“We think that the national project which involves all the sects and ethnic groups is the best way to move the political process away from the sectarian and national disputes,” he confirmed.

“The local elections will be a prelude to the general elections in terms of forming the alliances and realizing the size of the impact of the political blocs on the political arena, also those lections will be look like a probe to know the willingness of the political sides to work together,” Askari referred.

It is worth to mention that the past few days witnessed convergence between the PM al-Maliki and the Speaker al-Nijaifi where they agreed to settle the pending issues and endorsing a corpse of laws.

On the other hand, the relation between Maliki with his Deputy al-Mutleg reached convergence especially after Maliki canceled the request of withdrawing confidence from Mutleg.
