Maliki instructs Haj Commission to cancel special seats for officials

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, instructed the Supreme Commission of Haj to cancel all the special approvals granted for officials during the last year and in 2012.

A statement by Maliki sent to the Commission received exclusively by IraqiNews.com cited “On the basis of the general interests, it is decided to cancel all the special seats granted for the officials of any rank to perform Haj rituals during the previous years and in 2012,” noting that “The aged people who are granted the chance to go for Haj in the next years should benefit of these seats and be given the priority to go for Haj in 2012.”

Maliki ordered “Not to give a special permission to any one to perform the Haj rituals away from those who were nominated by the lot.”

It is worth mentioning that the Supreme Commission of Haj grants special approvals for MPs and the governmental officials to go for Haj every year.
