NGO launches campaign to collect votes to implement death penalties against terrorists

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The independent “Conscience Voice Bureau” which is organizing a campaign to collect million signatures calling for carrying out the death penalties against those convicted for terrorism called “The Premier Nouri al-Maliki and the Judiciary to reveal files of some politicians involved in crimes and implement the verdicts against those convicted criminals for terrorist activities.”

A statement by the Bureau cited on Tuesday “Conscience Voice Bureau met with the Spokesperson of the Supreme Judicial Council, Abdul Sattar al-Bairaqdar, where they discussed the issue of implementing the death penalties against those charged of terrorism and politicians within the political process who support terrorism.”

The statement quoted Bairaqdar as saying “We welcome and support your initiative to call for independence of the Judiciary.”

“The SJC presented a request to the Premier to hand over the files of the suspected politicians,” the SJC’s Spokesperson added.
