Urgent – .Halbousi elected as Anbar PC’s Chairman
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) The Provincial Council of Anbar province voted to elect Jasim al-Halbousi to be the new Chairman for the Council after dismissing the former Chairman Mamoun al-Alwani.
The Head of the Integrity Commission in Anbar PC, Naser Mohamed Fahad, told IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “The Provincial Council of Anbar held a session, chaired by the Acting Chairman, Sadoun al-Shalan, where they voted to elect, Jasim al-Halbousi, to assume the position of Anbar PC’s Chairman.”
“After sorting the votes, Halbousi won (17) out of (20) votes,” Fahad added.
It is worth to mention that Anbar PC has voted on May 13th unanimously to dismiss the Council’s Chairman al-Alwani on background of non-attending the questioning session over administrative and financial corruption charges.
