Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Judicial Council announced that “7500 gaurds will assume the task of providing the protection for the judges and the buildings related to the judicial authorities.”

A statement by the SJC received by IraqiNews.com cited “The number of the gaurds will reach 7500,” noting that “These guards are equipped with suitable weapons and they have good experiences as they underwent Iraqi and international training courses.”

“The Ministry of finance specified budget for the judicial authority where 87% of this budget is allocated for the salaries of the employees,” the statement added.

Judges are undergoing assassination attempts from time to time by unidentified gunmen in various areas in Iraq.
