Mortar shells dismantled in Najaf

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The Civil Defense Department in Najaf province announced “Dismantling a number of mortar shells in Kofa district of northren Najaf province.”

The Head of Media Office within Najaf Civil Defense Department, Lieutenant Sarmad Mohamed, stated to IraqiNews.com “The Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit managed to dismantle these mortar shells in addition to their launcher near a bridge in Kufa city of northren Najaf.”

“Separately, 21 mortar shells were discovered and lifted from a farm located between Najaf and Karbala provinces,” the source added.

“The operations were done without casualties or material damages,” the source concluded.
