Musawi calls on Gulf States to ensure their people’s rights
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Salman al-Musawi criticized the silence of the international community towards what is happening in Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia .
Musawi called upon “The Gulf Arab countries to respect their people’s rights and ensure the freedom of expression, worship and belief for their minorities before demanding the others to do so.”
He added that “New Iraq managed to apply most of the democracy principles represented by the national reconciliation, freedom of expression, rule of law, human rights principles.”
It is worth to mention that protests demonstrations are performed from time to time in the KSA and Bahrain to demand reforms.
The ministerial council of the Gulf States Cooperation Council has issued a statement at the conclusion of the 124th meeting in which it called the Government of Iraq to fulfill its responsibility to sustain Iraq’s unity, stability and prosperity and activate its role in establishing confidence with neighboring countries on basis of good neighborhood principles.
On other hand, the Iraqi Foriegn Ministry expressed its condemnation for the final statement of the GSCC concerning the situation in Iraq demanding to respect its sovereignty and not to intervene in its internal affairs.
