Ahrar bloc calls Maliki to hold responsibility over protecting prayers

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mushriq Naji, of the Ahrar bloc called the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to hold responsibility in protecting the prayers on Fridays from the repeated targeting.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Saturday, he said “The repeated attacks on the prayers of Friday of the followers of the Sadr Trend are considered a bad scheme set by the criminals headed by the USA and executed by its followers of al-Qaeda and Ba’ath party.”

“We condemn targeting the prayers in Kirkuk and we call the Commanding General of the Iraqi Armed Forces to hold responsibility over protecting the prayers and punish the doers,” he added.

He concluded “The US cannot forget the attacks of the Sadr Trend which forced them to leave Iraq.”

earlier, a terrorist attack targeted a Shiite mosque in Kirkuk after the Friday prayer yesterday as well as targeting the Friday prayer in Sadr City in Baghdad few weeks earlier.
