Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Allah Gharb, of the Iraqiya Slate assured that the defamation does not serve anyone, but it negatively affects the political process and the politicians.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “If there are evidences confirm the involvement of Baghdad Mayor, Sabir al-Esawi, in corruption issues, they will be submitted to the Integrity Committee and the judicial authorities to be considered in the legal procedures against him.”

“If there are no evidences against him, there should not be defamation,” he added, noting that “I do not support defaming because it will harm all politicians rather than a certain figure.”

Earlier, Baghdad Mayor, Sabir al-Esawi, has submitted his resignation to the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, due to personal reasons.
