General Amnesty calls Iraqi Government to investigate Sunday bombings

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The General Amnesty International Organization called “The Iraqi Government to investigate the latest bombings that took place in Baghdad and other provinces on last Sunday and resulted in killing and injuring dozens of citizens.”

A statement by the Organization quoted its director in the Middle East and Northern Africa, Hasiba Haji Sahrawi, as saying “The terrible attacks in Iraq indicate the underestimation of the human life,” assuring that “We call the Iraqi Government to conduct fair investigation over bombings to submit the figures ebhind them to justice.”

Earlier, Baghdad, Kirkuk, Basra, Salah al-Din, Dhi-Qar, Maysan and Nineveh provinces witnessed car bombings that resulted in killing and injuring dozens of citizens on last Sunday.

Sahrawi added that “We condemn the death sentence issued against the Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, because such sentence is violating the human rights of life,” calling to “Reduce the sentence.”
