Shihristani calls Canadian Government to inaugurate its embassy in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs, Hussien al-Shihristani, called “The Canadian Government to inaugurate its Embassy in Baghdad.”

A statement by Shihristani’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Shihristani received the Non-resident Canadian Ambassador at his office in Baghdad on Wednesday,” noting that “Both sides discussed the means of consolidating economic and cultural relations between the two countries.”

“Shihristani confirmed the Iraqi Government’s intention to send a number of Iraqi students to complete their higher education abroad and especially in Canada,” the statement added.

“The Ambassador emphasized the Canadian Government support to receive 300 Iraqi students to study at the Canadian universities,” the statement concluded.
