Tribal Parliamentary bloc denounces assassinating Mayah Chieftain

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Tribal bloc denounced killing the Chieftain of Mayah tribe, Mohamed Hilal Balasim, in al-Hay district in Wassit province on last Wednesday.

A statement by the bloc received by IraqiNews.com cited “This crime aims at creating sedition among the Iraqi tribes and to keep them away from the moderate performance that aims at creating a harmonious society on the basis of the tribal customs.”

“The bloc calls to speed up arresting the criminals behind this crime to present them to justice,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, the Chieftain of Mayah Tribe, Mohamed Hilal al-Balasim, was found killed at his bed inside his house in al-Hay neighborhood of southern Kut of central Wassit on last Wednesday.
