Askari denies reports over offending Kurdish September Revolution

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Sami al-Askari of the State of Law Coalition denied the reports attributed to him over offending the Kurdish September Revolution.

In a statement recited in a press conference held at the Parliament building, Askari said “The reports that were attributed to me arguing that I described the Kurdish September Revolution as disobedience are not true because such descriptions were used by the Baath Party rather the Islamic movements,” clarifying that “The sacrifices of the Kurds are part of the Iraqi people’s sacrifices.”

The SLC‘s MP accused some media outlets of “offending the Iraqi media and its history,” noting that “During the past period some figures within the SLC and other blocs have been targeted through some media outlets in order to create problems with the other blocs.”

It is worth to mention that a certain website has published a report that quoted Askari as descriping the Kurdish September Revolution as “disobedience.”
