Endowments Committee stresses speedy reconstruction of Holy Shrine in Samarra

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Parliamentary Endowments and Religious Affairs Committee, Ali Hasan al-Allaq, stressed the smooth steps taken to rehabilitating the building of the Holy Shrine in Samarra city.

Allaq said in a statement to IraqiNews.com “The procedures of the rehabilitation works in Samarra Holy Shrine go smoothly where one of the two domes has been completed and there are only little things to complete the project.”

He added “The bombing that targeted this holy shrine was too large but this did not prevent us from moving quickly towards reconstructing this shrine which attracts huge numbers of visitors from inside and outside Iraq.”

It is worth to mention that the Holy Shrine in Samarra city of southern Salah il-Din province have been subject to a terrorist bombing by Improvised Explosive Devices in February 2006 that resulted in escalating a wave of sectarian violence all over Iraq.
