Urgent – Car bomb explodes in Samarra

Salah-il-Din, Tikrit (IraqiNews.com) A car bomb exploded near the holy shrine of Imam Askary in central Samarra.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com that ”The car bomb exploded targeting a police station, about (200 meters) far of the shrine of Imam Askary,” noting that “The explosion resulted in wounding a policeman and caused material damage to the shops nearby the explosion location.”

The source added “The security forces closed the roads which lead to the explosion area and imposed strict security measures on all areas nearby the explosion site while another security force transported the injured policeman to the hospital for treatment.” \
