Urgent... Parliament postpones voting on Infrastructures law draft

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Parliament, on Monday regular session, postponed the voting process on the infrastructure law till next week.

Parliamentary source told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) today that “The Parliament postponed, during its session held on Monday under the chairmanship of Osama al-Nijaifi, the voting on infrastructures law till next week.”

He added that “Nijaifi gave the committee in charge of studying infrastructures law a period of the whole week to submit its final report on the law.”

Last Saturday, the parliament hosted PM Nouri al-Maliki, who reviewed the infrastructure law, and expressed his surprise at the objection of some parliamentary blocs on the law, but at the same time, he acknowledged the possibility of having corruption cases due to this law.

Parliament Presidency has set Monday session as the date to vote on the infrastructure law, but it decided to postpone it until further notice according to a decision announced by the parliament registrar Mohammed al-Khalidi.
