Hakim criticizes endorsing laws according to political interests
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, called the Council of Ministers to end its preservations against the project of (Basra, the economic Capital of Iraq).
He also criticized the process of endorsing the law drafts according to the personal and partisan interests of the parties or politicians.
During his attendance for the First National Conference for the Faili Kurds, held in Baghdad on Saturday, Hakim stressed “the importance of admitting the rights and responsibilities of each side in Iraq and necessity to give exchanged concessions.”
He also emphasized importance of “endorsing the infrastructure law draft, if it serves the citizens and provides enough guarantees for not wasting the general budget and that all the $ 40 will be spent to serve the citizens rather than any other side.”
The head of the SIIC called “the MPs to set all guarantees and limitations to qualify the law draft of rehabilitating Maysan Province which will be submitted to Parliament next week in order to ensure that only Iraqi People will benefit from this project.”
Concerning the security situation in Iraq, hakim urged security officials and government to “reconsider the current security procedures and adopt new procedures and techniques through consolidating the intelligence efforts instead of increasing the number of check points in the streets which creates more traffic jams without tangible results on the security level.”
Hakim “renewed his calls for the two sides of the Syrian conflict to seize fire immediately and return to negotiations table as well as starting a neutral investigation over massacres happening in Syria to diagnose the sides which are responsible for these horrible actions in Syria.”
