Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqiya Slate’s MP Khalid al-Alwani expected the difficulty of endorsing the Infrastructure law draft in the parliament.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) Saturday “The law drafts lacks the details that ensure protecting the general budget and Iraqi revenues from waste or corruption besides the fact that delay which characterized the previous projects is among the reasons that would hurdle the endorsement of this law draft.”

“Blocs have concerns towards the lack of clear mechanisms to implement the project besides the confusion about the required amount of money since the different readings of the law mentioned two different amounts of $ 37 billion and $ 42 billion,” he added.

MP Alwani warned from attempts to” pass the Infrastructure law draft in return for endorsing the General Amnesty law draft.”

He assured that “Iraq has enough financial revenues that can cover the construction process in Iraq instead of putting large amount of debts on Iraq in a similar way to the debts left by the former regime which adopted similar project at that time.”
