Government renews its stance in rejection of hosting MKO in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Government renewed its stance in rejecting the settlement of the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq Organization elements in the Iraqi territories.

A statement by office of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, received by IraqiNews.com cited “The US Department of State announced its intention to remove the MKO from the list of the Terrorist Organizations, so we assured on this occasion, that the governmental stance will not be changed towards this Organization which was involved in killing the Iraqis in addition to its defending the former regime.”

“The MKO presence on the Iraqi territories is against the Iraqi constitutional commitment towards a peaceful world,” the statement added.

For its part, UNAMI welcomed the transfer of the seventh group of the MKO elements to Camp liberty in Baghdad.
