Mahmoud describes financial corruption as "Exaggerated"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Midhat al-Mahmoud, assured the independence of the judicial system, describing the financial corruption in Iraq as “Exaggerated”.

A statement by the SJC received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday cited “Mahmoud, while meeting the US General Inspector, Storn Bon, and the Senior Advisor of the General Inspector, assured that the judicial system is completely independent and does not belong to any political or governmental side, but those who accuse it of being politicized attempt to politicize it,” noting that “Some of the amounts of rebuilding Iraq were allocated for the SJC.”

“Regarding the statements over the corruption in Iraq, Mahmoud assured that such statements are exaggerated and not real where the statistics show that the ratio of corruption is less but it is still exist,” the statement added.

“Mahmoud stressed the necessity of transferring the amounts allocated for rebuilding Iraq to the right sides,” the statement pointed out, noting that “Mahmoud calls to get the good benefit from those amounts because spending them will be for the benefit of the two countries.”
