Nijaifi stresses importance of Central Bank of Iraq’s independence

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Osama al-Nijaifi, stressed the importance of the Central Bank of Iraq’s independence as well as supervising the daily bids for the foreign currency conducted by the CBI because it serves to control the price and value of the Iraqi currency.

A statement by Nijaifi’s office cited Wednesday “Nijaifi received the head of the Financial Auditory Department, Abdul Basit Turkee and discussed with him the policy of the CBI.”

Turkee assured that “The coming few days will witness displaying the results of the investigation committee over the daily bid conducted by the Central Bank of Iraq.”
