Mustafa: publishing suspects’ names via media outlets violates law

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, MP Latif Mustafa stressed that “The publication of names of those who have been issued against them arrest warrants or bringing in orders via the media outlets is illegal since the investigations must be kept confidential.”

Mustafa stated to IraqiNews.com “The investigations measures with any suspect must be kept private for he maybe elope and secondly to preserve the dignity of the suspect as he maybe proved to be innocent.”

He clarified that “The one who feel that he was abused in announcing his name through the media he can file a lawsuit.”

Earlier, a source in the Parliamentary Integrity Committee announced that some arrest warrants have been issued against officials among them MPs and Governors over cases related to corruption.
