Asadi holds Basra ISF responsible for Waili’s assassination

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hussein al-Asadi of Basra province held Command of Basra Police responsible for the assassination of former Basra Governor.

Asadi mentioned in a statement to Iraqi News on Friday “Assassination of former Basra Governor, Mohammed Misbih al-Waili, with silenced weapons represents a new security failure for Basra Police Command.”

Earlier, an armed group has assassinated the former governor of Basra province, Mohammed al-Waili, near (Sayed Hamid al-Suwaij) of central Basra at 10 p.m. of Thursday.

The victim used to be a member of Fadhila Islamic Party who became a governor of Basra through elections between 2004 and 2008.

Waili is married and a father for five daughters and one son.
