Inspected in Bagdad, Iranian plane heads to Syria

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Government announced that “The Iraqi Authorities forced an Iranian cargo plane heading towards Syria through the Iraqi space for inspection in Baghdad International Airport.”

Spokesperson of the Iraqi Government, Ali al-Dabagh said in a press statement to IraqiNews.com Tuesday “The Iraqi Authorities inspected an Iranian cargo plane, which was heading to Syria, in Baghdad International Airport.”

“The plane was allowed to take off and carry on its distention when authorities confirmed that the plane was clear of weapons,” according to Dabagh.

Earlier, the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Hoshyar Zibari has confirmed “Baghdad is determined to inspect all Iranian airplanes heading towards Syria through Iraqi skies.”

The US has demanded Iraq to inspect all Iranian airplanes going through Iraq towards Syria on suspicions that these airplanes are carrying weapons for the Syrian Regime.
