Shara calls to grant Basra its merit of wealth, authority

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Furat al-Shara of Basra province called to allocate private budget for Basra because it did not get its fair share of the country’s wealth.

Shara stated to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “The distribution of the wealth and authority among the Iraqi provinces lacks fairness,” he added stressing that “This injustice is obvious when we realize the population rate of Basra and the size of wealth and economic revenues provided by the province to all of Iraq.”

“Basra is exposed to many damages caused by the oil production sector in terms of the climate changes that affect the agricultural and health situations, noting that “this state requires more financial allocations to upgrade those sectors,” he concluded.
