Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Hussein Sharefi, member of the Tourism and Antiquities Parliamentary Committee considered “Stealing the Iraqi antiquities as an organized action which runned by groups similar to the terrorist groups aiming to bury cultural identity of Iraq.”

Sharefi reported in press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday that ”The groups which run the steeling operation of the Iraqi antiquities, are similar to the terrorist groups, are aiming to bury the cultural identity of Iraq because many civilizations were born in Iraq and their remains are still exist until this day but there is an obvious violation on these civilizations.”

The statement added that ”The antiquities robbery that occurred in Babel Museum needs more investigations and we should suspect all the officials and guards of the museum,” stressing that ”The Tourism and Antiquities Parliamentary Committee demanded the Ministry of Tourism to form an investigation committee to identify the reasons and the sides behind such activities.”
