Maliki calls to conduct Provincial elections without delay

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki called to conduct the Provincial Elections on time without delay.

A statement by Maliki’s office cited “Maliki met the members of the Independent High Electoral Commission in his office in Baghdad,” noting that “Maliki stressed the necessity of adopting justice and non-discrimination principles without alignment for this side or that based on political, national, religious or sectarian reasons.”

“We demand you to apply the principles of justice and being strictly fair to all sides without being subject to pressures or demands away from these principles,” Maliki emphasized, describing the mission of the IHEC as “The start point for the whole political process.”

Maliki reiterated the Iraqi Government’s support for IHEC in order to conduct fair and transparent elections.

For their part, members of the IHEC expressed their readiness to conduct the elections as soon as possible according to principles of justice and transparency.
