Babel PC’ member calls to separate local council’s elections from PCs’ elections

Babel (IraqiNews.com) The member of Babel Provincial Council, Falah al-Sheikh Radhi, called the Independent High Electoral Commission to conduct the local elections of the districts in isolation from the provincial councils’ elections because the voters will be unable to vote on three slates in one.”

Radhi added in a statement to IraqiNews.com on Saturday “The districts’ elections cannot be held currently due to the overlapping among the administrative authorities.”

“The districts elections need special legislation and separate budget,” he pointed out, calling “speed up launching the districts elections prior to the PCs elections.”

Some parliamentary sources revealed the postponement of the local elections till six months.
