Mayahi urges to arm ISF with modern weapons

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The leader within the White Bloc, Aziz al-Mayahi, demanded the political blocs to allocate “6% from the budget of 2013 to finance the contracts of weapons that the Iraqi Army and Iraqi Forces need especially airplanes and Air Defense which might endanger the internal security of Iraq.”

Mayahi said in a press statement to Iraqi News Monday “Concluding the weapons contracts with Russia will be of positive impact in regard to weapons’ quality, date of delivery and prices f weapons in order to relief the hurdles set by the European Union and the United States in order to conclude weapons contracts with them.”

“The blocs are demanded to set their disputes a side and look for the interests of Iraq since the Iraqi Army does not represent a certain political or sectarian side and it is devoted to protect all Iraq,” he concluded.
